I had not been to Hong Kong for over 10 years. The Immigration Officer detained me as a "national security threat". "Do you have friends in Hong Kong?" this was one of the questions he asked me. He told me to fly back to Singapore but would not elaborate my risk to Hong Kong.

Your mum had long disappeared past the Immigration, sprinting speedily to the Baggage Claim belt. At 5 am, the Immigration Officer saw me as a lone traveller ready to terrorise Hong Kong.     
Pace yourself when you walk with your spouse for the rest of your life. It is better to walk together rather than wait for the other to catch up or lose the spouse as in this case.
